    Bitter Never Basic started the way a lot of good things do: with friends, Old Fashions, and a standing invitation called Shot Friday. Originally, we set out to make specialty cocktail bitters—bold, nuanced flavors designed to level‑up a classic drink without overthinking it. Our friends loved them. Then, they loved the syrups we were experimenting with even more. That’s when reality set in.


    Bringing bitters to market comes with plenty of red tape. Instead of letting that slow us down, we did what we do best—we pivoted. Using the same flavor‑first mindset and ingredient standards, we created Bitter Never Basic. The name is a nod to our roots, but the mission is bigger; great drinks without the hassle. Our naturally flavored syrups are made to build cocktails and mocktails in seconds—no obscure ingredients, no complicated recipes, no bartender ego required. We skip artificial colors, preservatives, and sugar processed with bone char. What’s left is clean, intentional flavor that actually tastes like what it says on the label.


    Then something unexpected happened. People started using our syrups in coffee. In tea. In sparkling water. Turns out, when you make something this versatile, it doesn’t stay in one lane.
